Dr. Chris Marion and his staff understand the specific needs for exotic pets and can provide quality care for your pet. Our team is dedicated to providing a comfortable and stress-free environment, which is why many of our team members are Fear-Free Certified! We treat exotic pets with the same level of care and attention as a standard companion pet. Pets are more than just an animal, they are family members.

Reptiles

Wellness Exams: At Animal Doctor Blue Hills, we offer routine physical examinations to maximize quality of life for your reptile. During these visits, clients can expect to discuss the current habitat and nutrition, and the doctor will perform a thorough exam to check for abnormalities.

Diagnostics: Oftentimes, reptiles can cover up abnormalities and illness. At Animal Doctor Blue Hills, we can provide radiographs and thorough physical examinations to evaluate the health status of your reptile.
 

Birds

Grooming: Dr. Chris Marion and staff can perform grooming essentials for your avian. Over time, your bird may experience abnormal wear or growth that requires a nail or beak trim. Depending on your bird, we might also recommend wing trims for maintenance, which can be performed at Animal Doctor Blue Hills!

Because there are a wide array of avian species, please call our clinic to schedule a grooming or accessory appointment. Accessory appointments include ONLY beak, nail, and wing trims.
 

Small Mammals

Routine Care: At Animal Doctor Blue Hills, we offer routine physical examinations to maximize quality of life for your pet. During these visits, clients can expect to discuss the current habitat and nutrition, and the doctor will perform a thorough exam to check for abnormalities. Our staff will also provide your pet with a nail trim and can address minor problems during these visits. If necessary, we will use diagnostic testing and radiographs to identify underlying conditions.

Surgical Procedures: Dr. Chris Marion and staff perform basic surgical procedures for your small mammal. These include spay (for rabbits) and neuter procedures and minor dental care (teeth trimming). For extensive and major surgical procedures, clients should call K-State Veterinary Medicine in Manhattan, KS.

Dr. Chris Marion

Dr. Marion is originally from Blackwood, NJ and received his bachelor’s degree in Biology from the University of Evansville (IN). He received his DVM degree in 2006 and Master of Public Health (MPH) in 2011 from Kansas State University. Dr. Marion and his wife have one son and currently share their home with two dogs, two guinea pigs, and a horse. When not at work, he enjoys spending time running, taking care of things around the house, and spending time with his family outdoors. Dr. Marion’s areas of interest are exotic animal medicine and clinical trials. He believes preventative medicine is a staple in the effort to prolong and extend the quality years for your pet.
